What would be the one lesson you would share from 2024 based on your professional activities?
2024 was a year which started on a very cautious note, but ended up quite optimistic, with November being our best month ever. Also, we launched iajob.ro, a new job board aiming candidates who are looking for a very fast hire and want to get in direct contact with employers, via phone or Whatsapp. iajob.ro grew really nice, which was a great surprise considering how the year started, so, having this in mind, I think that one important lesson would be the importance of adaptability in the job market.
Also, due to the abrupt development in technology, an important emphasis was put on continuous learning and the ability to pivot into new areas of expertise.
What economic outlook do you see for 2025? What are your expectations for the intellectual labour market?
As far as Romania is concerned, we have to take into account the fact that we are undergoing some turbulences as far as the politic environment is concerned, so, from this point of view, we can expect some sort of impact also in the economic environment and especially fiscal changes. However, many analysts expect moderate growth in global economies, with varying conditions across different regions. Factors such as inflation, interest rates, regulatory changes, and political stability will influence these outcomes. Additionally, advancements in technology and shifts in consumer behavior may create both challenges and opportunities for various sectors. The demand for intellectual labor is likely to continue growing, driven by rapid technological innovation and an increased focus on knowledge-based jobs. Skills in areas like AI, data analysis, cybersecurity, and digital marketing will be particularly sought after. The intellectual labor market in 2025 will favor those who can adapt to technological advancements and demonstrate relevant skills, making lifelong learning an essential part of professional development.
