What do you see as the biggest challenge for 2024?
I’d rather say challenge for longer term and not only 2024 is the drop in attractiveness of our industry for the workforce, our aging population within MOL Group and how we can keep their knowledge within our company. While we constantly make efforts to decrease the impact of these challenges, we also build on the new trends. We are putting higher focus from this year onwards (and let’s say this is then “the” 2024 challenge) on generative AI and its utilization within HR.
What would be the one lesson you would share from 2023 based on your professional activities?
Though this is nothing new under the sun, what is one of my lessons from 2023 is how we need to follow up our own HR KPIs within some of our core processes. We are using way more data and metrics than let’s say 10 years ago, still we have not achieved the desired utilization level.
What was the motivation or goal that set you on this career path?
I do the best that I can, and that’s the best I can do 😊 A wise man once taught me this during our mentoring journey. I really love HR and what we can do to impact business through its people, so I suppose that’s what motivated me while I was always focusing on my job and caring about my team.
Of all the advice and feedback you have received over the years, which is the one that has stuck with you the most?
Be kind, yet firm. And common sense above everything.
What advice would you give to young people at the beginning of their career?
The world is constantly evolving, and so are job roles and industry requirements. You should stay curious and committed to learning new skills and knowledge. Nurture professional relationships and surround yourself with people who help you grow and vice versa.
In your daily work, what is the value system you follow?
Dedicate time to share the reasons behind the decision and support people understanding the big picture (Communication) Utilize data and HR KPIs to make informed decisions and improve core processes (Data-Driven Decision Making) Make processes simple and user friendly.
What is the biggest thing you have achieved so far? What would you like to achieve in the future? Leading the team and the organization in the company I have continuously grown in since 2010, staying true to myself and first and foremost – being a mother while juggling it all. The future will bring what it brings.
What motivates you daily?
That I have a team of 200 HR professionals to take care of, for whom I take the responsibility while continuously focusing on strengthening our partnership with our business.
What is the biggest failure you remember that was defining for you? What did you learn from it?
Good question and I honestly don’t remember now some huge failure which defined me – I can tell I make mistakes on the go as all humans do, pick them up and aim to learn from all.
